Experience the World of Work Firsthand, FEB UNIPMA–BTPN Syariah MSME Expo Provides Real Experience
UNIPMA — Learning business does not always have to take place in classrooms with theories and numbers. Students of the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) at Universitas PGRI Madiun (UNIPMA) instead receive a “real-world classroom” through the experience of assisting MSME entrepreneurs in collaboration with BTPN Syariah.
For one semester, students not only studied management and accounting concepts in lectures but also went directly into the field. They helped assisted MSMEs with various aspects, ranging from marketing strategies and customer service to efforts to expand market reach.
The learning outcomes were then showcased at the MSME Expo 2026 held at Graha Cendekia on Friday (3/7) and officially opened by the Rector of UNIPMA, Dr. Supri Wahyudi Utomo, M.Pd.
For students, this activity serves as a bridge between the academic world and the working world. Septian Mukti Saputra, a Management student, said the program gave him direct experience in understanding the development of small businesses.
“Through this program, we can directly see the process of MSME mentoring and the development of their businesses. It is much more real compared to learning theory in class,” said Septian.
A similar view was expressed by Mohammad Fajar S.M from the Accounting Study Program. He said the activity opened students’ insights into the working world directly. “We not only learn theory, but also interact with business owners and customers. From this, we gain a better understanding of the working world,” he said.
Meanwhile, Farhan Putra Radityas considered the MSME Expo beneficial not only for students but also for the assisted business owners. “The expo was quite crowded and provided opportunities for MSMEs to become more widely known. We also learned how products can truly reach the community,” he said.
More than just an exhibition, this activity is part of experiential learning (Project-Based Learning) as well as the implementation of an Impactful Campus concept. Through this program, students are not only prepared to graduate but also to be ready for the workforce.
Here, students do not only learn “how to do business,” but also directly observe how business actually operates in the field.
Currently, new student registration for the Regular program and Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) for the 2026/2027 Academic Year has officially opened.
