All About the Story! Shinta’s PGSD UNIPMA Internship Experience Becomes Preparation for the World of Work
UNIPMA – Learning experiences in higher education are not limited to the classroom. This was experienced by Shinta Rahmawati, a student of the Primary School Teacher Education (PGSD) Study Program at the University of PGRI Madiun (UNIPMA) from Campus 2 UNIPMA in Ngawi, through an internship program at the New Student Admissions Bureau (PMB) of UNIPMA.
Through this program, Shinta gained direct experience in the new student admission process, starting from providing information services, managing registration data, to campus promotion activities through schools and social media. This involvement became a space for practical learning that helped students understand the world of work more closely, while also showing that students from Campus 2 Ngawi are actively involved in various strategic campus activities.
“During my internship at PMB, I learned how to provide friendly and informative services to prospective students. I also understood the importance of teamwork and promotional strategies in attracting new applicants,” said Shinta on Thursday (02/07).
During the internship, Shinta together with other students was also involved in preparing digital publication content, assisting consultation services for prospective student registration, and helping to compile reports on promotional activities. These activities provided a real picture of the structured work process in new student admissions services.
For Shinta, this experience had a direct impact on developing skills relevant to the world of work. She considered the internship to strengthen her communication and administrative skills, as well as practical understanding previously gained in lectures.
The student internship program at the UNIPMA PMB Bureau is carried out under the supervision of the Head of the PMB Bureau, Dr. Candra Dewi, S.Pd., M.Pd. During the program, students receive regular guidance and evaluation so that each task can run optimally and provide a directed learning experience.
Responding to the program’s implementation, the Head of the UNIPMA PMB Bureau, Dr. Candra Dewi, S.Pd., M.Pd., stated that student involvement in internships is part of the university’s effort to provide impactful learning that is relevant to professional world needs.
“The internship program at the PMB Bureau not only helps students understand the new student admission process, but also trains communication, service, administration, and teamwork skills. We hope this experience will become useful preparation when they enter the workforce,” she said.
She also emphasized that UNIPMA students, both from Campus 1 Madiun and Campus 2 Ngawi, have equal opportunities to actively participate in various campus activities, including internships, organizations, and other self-development programs.
Through this program, UNIPMA seeks to provide experiential learning that not only strengthens student competencies but also supports the improvement of campus service quality. Student involvement in PMB activities is a form of synergy that provides mutual benefits, both for student development and the institution.
