HIMADIGSAR UNIPMA Holds GSB and HIMADIGSAR in Action, Fostering Students Social Awareness in Teguhan Village
UNIPMA – The Student Association of the Elementary School Teacher Education Study Program (HIMADIGSAR) at Universitas PGRI Madiun (UNIPMA) organized the Gerakan Sedekah Bersama (GSB) and HIMADIGSAR in Action programs in Teguhan Village, Jiwan District, Madiun Regency, on Sunday (June 28). Carrying the theme "Sharing with Heart, Acting with Care," the event reflected the students' commitment to community service through social, religious, and empowerment activities.
The program was supervised by a lecturer from the Elementary School Teacher Education Study Program, Dr. Endang Sri Maruti, S.Pd., M.Pd., and involved the residents of Teguhan Village, mosque administrators, members of the PKK women's organization, and children from the Taman Pendidikan Al-Qur'an (TPA).
In an interview, the chairperson of the organizing committee, Annisa Meta Nur Alifia, explained that the event aimed to strengthen students' community engagement, build positive relationships with local residents, and foster social awareness among university students.
"Through this program, we hope to encourage both students and the community to set aside a portion of their blessings as an expression of care for others. The donations collected are used to support the prosperity of the mosque, while our students also assist TPA children in their religious learning activities," she said.
In addition to the social and religious activities, HIMADIGSAR also conducted a socialization session on KUB chicken farming with members of the PKK women's organization as an effort to provide insights into community economic empowerment through the livestock sector.
Annisa explained that the Gerakan Sedekah Bersama (GSB) is one of HIMADIGSAR's regular work programs, held once every two months. This year, however, it was combined with the HIMADIGSAR in Action program, allowing the community service activities to reach a broader scope.
According to her, the successful implementation of the program was made possible through the commitment of the HIMADIGSAR executive board, support from the university, and the active participation of the local community throughout the series of activities.
Through this initiative, HIMADIGSAR hopes to instill the values of social responsibility and community service among students. The organization also expects GSB and HIMADIGSAR in Action to continue as sustainable programs, passed on from one leadership period to the next, so that their benefits can continue to be enjoyed by the community.
