Welcoming the Islamic New Year 1448 Hijri, UNIPMAs Shoutul Murobby Student Activity Unit Holds Islamic Study Session
UNIPMA – The Shoutul Murobby Hadroh Student Activity Unit (UKM) of Universitas PGRI Madiun (UNIPMA) organized an Islamic study session to welcome the Islamic New Year, 1 Muharram 1448 Hijri. Carrying the theme "Strengthening Islamic Brotherhood in the Spirit of the Islamic New Year," the event was held at Raudhatul Jannah Mosque, Klegen Elderly Care Center, Kartoharjo District, Madiun City, on Saturday (June 27).
The study session aimed to enhance students' understanding of Islam, strengthen ukhuwah Islamiyah (Islamic brotherhood), and encourage participants to use the Islamic New Year as a moment for reflection to improve the quality of their worship and character.
The event began with the recitation of verses from the Holy Qur'an, followed by a hadroh performance by the Shoutul Murobby Student Activity Unit as part of its Islamic outreach. Participants then attended a lecture delivered by Drs. H. Ibnu Mahmudi, M.M., who discussed the meaning of hijrah, the importance of self-improvement, enhancing the quality of worship, and strengthening brotherhood among fellow Muslims.
The event was also attended and supervised by the advisor of the Shoutul Murobby Hadroh Student Activity Unit, Dr. Elly's Mersina Mursidik, S.Pd., M.Pd., who delivered welcoming remarks and expressed appreciation for the successful organization of the program.
The chairperson of the organizing committee, Salsabila Fadhilah Rosady, stated that the study session was designed to help participants understand the true meaning of hijrah as a journey toward becoming a better person.
"We hope participants will take the Prophet Muhammad's migration (Hijrah) as an inspiration to improve themselves, strengthen Islamic values, and preserve brotherhood in their daily lives," she said.
In addition to commemorating the Islamic New Year, the event also served as an initiative by the Shoutul Murobby Student Activity Unit to preserve the art of hadroh as a medium for Islamic preaching while strengthening the organization's role in promoting Islamic values both on campus and within the wider community.
Throughout the program, participants attended each session in an orderly and enthusiastic manner. Through this Islamic study session, the Shoutul Murobby Student Activity Unit hopes that the spirit of the Islamic New Year will extend beyond ceremonial observance and become a meaningful opportunity to improve the quality of worship, cultivate good character, and encourage students to make positive contributions to their communities.
