UNIPMA – The Library of Universitas PGRI Madiun (UNIPMA) introduced a variety of library services and facilities through the online #SARINGPERPUS Socialization program titled “Library in Your Pocket.” The event, held via Zoom on Tuesday (21/7), was attended by members of the academic community, including students, lecturers, and educational staff.

The event was officially opened by the Rector of UNIPMA, Dr. Supri Wahyudi Utomo, M.P. In his remarks, he emphasized that the library is no longer merely a place to store books but has evolved into a space for lifelong learning.

“The library is no longer merely a place to store books, but has become a space for lifelong learning. The support of information technology makes library services increasingly open, inclusive, and adaptive for students, lecturers, and educational staff,” said Dr. Supri Wahyudi Utomo, M.P.

He also emphasized the importance of innovation in building a culture of literacy so that the library can play an increasingly significant role in supporting the quality of education and human resource development.

“The library needs to continue serving as a strategic partner in improving the quality of education and human resources, with services that can be utilized by both internal and external communities,” he added.

UNIPMA Librarian, Tika Ayuningtyas, S.IIP., said the activity was held to optimize the utilization of literacy resources available at the library.

“The library introduces its facilities, print and digital collections, as well as the types of services available,” said Tika Ayuningtyas, S.IIP.

The event featured the Head of the UNIPMA Library, Nurjanah, S.Pd., S.I.Pust., as the speaker. Participants received information about circulation services, digital collections, the institutional repository, reference services, access to e-resources**, as well as library facilities that can be utilized both directly and online.**

In addition to introducing various services, the socialization also covered procedures for uploading scholarly works to the repository. The material was intended to help students understand the technical standards established by the library and reduce errors during the uploading process.

Among lecturers and educational staff, 120 participants were recorded. A total of 90 were lecturers, while the remaining 30 were educational staff. Meanwhile, Tika Ayuningtyas, S.IIP., recorded 557 students among the participants.

According to Tika Ayuningtyas, S.IIP., the involvement of the academic community indicates a need for information resources to support academic activities. This condition is one of the reasons for the library to continue developing easier access to its available services.

“This reflects the enthusiasm of the academic community for information literacy, as well as the high level of awareness and need for library services,” she said.

Under the theme “Library in Your Pocket,” the event emphasized the use of digital technology to expand access to information resources. With services available online, users can utilize various library facilities without always having to visit the library in person.

The development of access is expected to support the academic community in carrying out learning, research, and community service activities as part of the Three Pillars of Higher Education (Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi).

To encourage library visits, the UNIPMA Library is also preparing rewards for users who actively visit and utilize library services. The appreciation is expected to motivate members of the academic community to visit the library more frequently and make the most of its various facilities.

Through this activity, the library hopes that students and lecturers will be able to utilize library services optimally and make them an active and sustainable part of their academic activities.
